Other Laurins

Introduction

During the work with the Laurin Kosters, some information about other Laurin Designs were obtained. In order not to loose any information, this page is considered a "resting place" until someone decide to make individual Websites....

The information on this page is subject to input from Boat owners or other interested parties...

Laurin Cruisers

Per nature, the Laurin Cruisers do not comply to the Koster Rule.

For the time being, it only contains details known to the Webmaster and pictures send forward.

If someone decide to write the history of these boats - or part of it - it will be included.

The same goes for the owner registration, which will only be updated on request from the public.               Owner Register.

L26

This boat is called a Laurin 26. However, the initiative for the construction her is entirely with Kenneth Back, Sweden. Despite the fact, that Kenneth consulted Arvid Laurin for his opinion and that he re-designed the under water part, it can - at most - be called a 50/50 Bach/Laurin and the correct name would have been a "Laubach 26"...

Short History: The L26 was initiated by a wish to "reproduce" the 26 ft. Laurin Koster - "Elisabeth II" - in Fiberglass. Kenneth Back reworked the original drawings. The changes made entailed: Widening the aft and creating more space below by lifting the cabin hight. The rigging was changed too.

Kenneth Back produced the plugs and the first 17 boats were produced in Landskrona, Sweden, after which the production was moved
